A longtime law firm is making a move to another location.

Poyner Spruill, which has offices in Charlotte, Raleigh and Southern Pines, has signed a lease to move its 30-person Rocky Mount office to the main building of the Rocky Mount Mills.

Poyner Spruill will join Envolve Vision, the Rocky Mount Telegram and Life 103.1 to be the fourth corporate tenant in the 150-acre mixed-use development on the Tar River.

“Poyner Spruill is a pillar of the community in Rocky Mount, and we’re thrilled to have them join the family of companies moving to the Mills,” said Matt Honeycutt, real estate development manager of the Rocky Mount Mills.

The firm was formed in 1986 by the merger of two of North Carolina’s oldest law firms — Poyner, Geraghty, Hartsfield & Townsend of Raleigh and Spruill & Spruill of Rocky Mount and Raleigh. James M. Poyner, Marshall B. Hartsfield and John J. Geraghty founded the firm.
